TAPPAS – Tool for Assessing Pest and Pathogen Aerial Spread – is released! This new software platform developed by CSIRO Health and Biosecurity, the Bureau of Meteorology and Intersect provides access to powerful wind dispersion and weather prediction models.

Using data visualisation and computer modelling, TAPPAS enables biosecurity managers and scientists to run sophisticated wind dispersal scenarios and model the risks associated with wind-borne insects or plant pathogens into and from Australia, to prepare for and respond to wind-borne threats and help protect our agriculture from pests and diseases.
TAPPAS version 1 is designed to help researchers, policy-makers and practitioners address biosecurity questions. The software is also specifically designed to be flexible and adaptable.
