Intersect recently started working on the Research Data Services Food and Health Flagship: Omics Data Services Platform, in association with VicNode and QCIF.  The work at Intersect is being led by Dr. Jeff Christiansen. The website is currently being developed at: omics.data.edu.au.

In the first phase (up to Q3 2016), the platform is being built to support multi-omics analysis for bacterial pathogens, by providing a data integration environment for a comprehensive genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics dataset that is being produced for the Australian microbiology community through funding and coordination by Bioplatforms Australia (SEPSIS project). Additionally, the platform will incorporate analysis tools for cross-omics data analyses. These will leverage prior national investment in the ‘omics’ space by being integrated into the NeCTAR-funded Genomics Virtual Laboratory (GVL).

Intersect is working closely with Bioplatforms Australia; data generating facilities in NSW (the Ramaciotti Centre for Genomics and the Australian Proteome Analysis Facility (APAF) to gather requirements; and our development partners VicNode and QCIF to build the data integration and analysis environment.
